The New Johann Strauss Edition
Complete Works
under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra 

1995 marked the birth of a new edition of Johann Strauss Jr.‘s complete works. The project is still in progress. It is the first scholarly and authentic musical text of the works of Johann Strauss. This mammoth undertaking is of great significance,because,unlike the works of other composers, such as Bach or Mozart, the complete works of Johann Strauss, who died more than a hundred years ago, have not yet been made accessible to the public in a scientific-critical edition.

The New Johann Strauss Edition,Complete Works, is produced by

•  The „Strauss Edition Wien“ ( Alexander Hermann)
•  Under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra
•  In cooperation with the Johann Strauss Society of Vienna

The edition of the complete orchestral works has already been finished.A considerable number of his stage works are also available in the new critical edition.
