Since 2013, the Johann Strauss Society of Vienna has awarded the Golden Johann Strauss to personalities who have made a valuable contribution to the cultivation and maintainance of the music of Johann Strauss. The presentation ceremony is held once a year and takes place at a gala dinner in the traditional setting of the restaurant „ Marchfelderhof“ in Deutsch-Wagram. From the very beginning this event has been a magnet for celebrities and a media attraction.
